We have entered a new era in higher education financing. Is your organization ready for it? Join us at the NCHELP Spring Convention to prepare for the changes and challenges ahead. Experts will discuss how to tap into federal contracts and creative financing models; how FFELP CEOs are planning for the future; and what is on the horizon for higher education institutions and how that impacts student loan providers. They will also talk about effectively utilizing new technology tools to increase services and improve efficiencies.

One of the biggest challenges facing the nation is its sizable debt – a factor that weighs heavily into the student loan reform debate. We are pleased to announce that David Walker, former Comptroller General of the U.S. and head of the Government Accountability Office and current President and CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, will be our keynote speaker at the conference. Walker leads the Foundation’s efforts to promote federal fiscal responsibility and had great success with his “Fiscal Wakeup Tour” while at the GAO.

The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is situated on a 482 acres site in Orlando, Florida just off Center Drive surrounded by the Walt Disney World® Resort on three sides. Room Rate
The NCHELP group room rate is $179 Single/Double.  The Hilton is pleased to offer double Hilton Honor points for booking your room reservation under the NCHELP group block.  Please make your reservation at your earliest convenience! Contact Stefanie Gramm (sgramm@nchelp.org), NCHELP Meetings Manager if you experience any problems with room reservations or obtaining double Hilton Honor points.

Reservation Procedure
Attendees may telephone the Reservation Department by calling 888-353-2013 or 407-597-3600.  Reference must be given to the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs  or ZNCH to assure the group rate.  All reservations must be guaranteed for arrival with a major credit card and/or a first room night deposit. 

Cut-Off Date
The hotel will accept reservations until the cut-off date of May 14, 2010. After that date, the hotel will not offer special conference rates or assure availability, all rooms remaining in the group block will be returned to the hotel's general inventory for sale to other groups and individuals.

Room Cancellation
Reservations may be canceled up to 72 hours prior to arrival without penalty.  If cancellation of reservation takes place within 72 hours of the scheduled arrival one night’s room revenue will be charged.

Check-In/Check-Out Times
Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

What to Wear
The conference dress is business casual.   The average temperature in June is 90/72 degrees. 

Ground Transportation
Orlando International Airport is located approximately 25 miles from the hotel (45 minutes).

Shared-Ride:  Mears Motor Shuttle is an affordable convenient way to travel to and from the Hilton Bonnett Creek.  A discounted fare of $33 per person round trip has been set.

• All cancellations must be in writing to the NCHELP office and addressed to conferences@nchelp.org.
• Cancellation fees will be assessed for both prepaid and non-prepaid registrations. 
• Registrations cancelled prior to April 26, 2010 will receive a full refund minus a $75 administrative fee. 
• Registrations cancelled prior to May 18, 2010 will receive 50% refund minus a $75 administrative fee. 
• Registrations cancelled after May 18, 2010 will not receive a refund. 
• Registrations may be transferred to another registrant from your organization within the same conference at any time.  A $75 administrative fee will apply.
• Please note that registrations fees from prior conferences/conventions for your organization will be deducted from any refunds. 
• Refunds will be processed 30 days after the conference.
