Roles and Responsibilities

NCHELP Board of Directors – Overall responsibility for the management of the business and affairs of the project. Specific
authority is delegated by the Board to the Meteor Advisory Team (MAT).

The Meteor Steering Committee – The Steering Committee is responsible for the governance, direction, and management of the Meteor Project and advises the NCHELP Board of Directors with regard to the project. The Steering Committee also provides counsel and guidance to the Meteor Advisory Team and oversees the daily operation of the Meteor Network.

The Meteor Advisory Team – Overall responsibility for all aspects of the Meteor Project including planning, development,
implementation, training, and communications tasks associated with the Meteor Network. Members of the advisory team are appointed by Meteor Member organizations. The leadership of the member organizations is responsible for helping to shape the future direction of the network.

The Meteor Advisory Team was created by the project sponsors to:

 

  • General Responsiblities:
    Define Business Requirements
    • Assist with Software Design
    • Identify Technology Architecture
    • Test Meteor Software
    • Facilitate Implementation of Meteor Software
    •  Market Meteor
    • Conduct Training

Project sub-teams were created to work on specific project tasks. The sub-teams and their primary assignments are:

Security, Privacy & Authentication: 

  • Identify Authentication Standards
  • Assist in Authentication Software Design

Promotions & Publications: 

  • Create and Publish Project Communications
  • Develop Marketing Strategy
  • Perform Public Relations
  • Conduct Training

Technology: 

  • Identify Technology Options
  • Conduct Software Performance Testing
  • Provide Implementation Guidance

Meeting Schedules

All advisory teams meet via conference call for the majority of their work. The conference call schedules are as follows. Please contact the team lead if you are interested in participating. All times listed are EASTERN time.
